Westchester Medical Center Health Network seeks a Laboratory Supervisor to manage daily Hematology operations, staff, and workflows, ensuring compliance with SOPs and regulatory standards. The role coordinates section activities, develops work plans, and maintains quality across testing processes.

The ideal candidate has supervisory experience in a clinical laboratory, a bachelor's in Science or Medical Technology, and an NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist license.

Qualifications

• 1+ years supervisory experience in a laboratory setting.
• Experience in QC/QA and regulatory requirements.
• Experience working at bench in supervisory department and using sound judgement.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and oversees daily operations and work assignments to ensure timely and accurate result reporting.
• Is accessible to testing personnel at all times to provide on-site, telephone, or electronic support.
• Provides day-to-day supervision of personnel performing moderate and high complexity testing.
• Monitors test analyses and specimen examinations to ensure acceptable analytic performance.
• Resolves technical problems and ensures remedial actions when test systems deviate from specifications.
• Ensures patient test results are not reported until corrective action has been taken and systems are functioning properly.
• Evaluates, establishes and maintains procedures and quality control systems.
• Reviews quality improvement data and performance indicators and participates in problem resolutions.
• Implements new test systems/processes and ensures regulatory requirements are met.
• Participates in development and adherence of departmental budget and identifies cost-saving opportunities.
• Serves as a resource for continuing education and training of staff and hospital personnel.
