Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health seeks a Lab Supervisor to oversee the Hematology Department, supervising staff and ensuring accurate, timely services. You will ensure compliance with NJ regulations and CAP accreditation standards while collaborating with pathologists and leadership to support patient care.

The role requires leadership, strong hematology/coagulation knowledge, and availability on weekends as needed to fulfill General Supervisor duties within a high-volume laboratory.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree or Medical Technology degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Medical Technologist.
• ASCP or NCA certification preferred.
• Meet the requirements for qualification as Laboratory Supervisor in New Jersey and CAP guidelines.
• Available to work weekends and holidays as General Supervisor as needed.
• Specialized knowledge in Hematology and Coagulation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Hematology Department and supervise laboratory staff.
• Coordinate department workflows to ensure accurate, timely laboratory services.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (CAP, NJ regulations) and institutional policies.
• Provide reporting of departmental activities to leadership and act as supervisor on weekends/holidays.
• Collaborate with pathologists and staff to support high-quality patient care.
