Job summary

Charah Solutions Inc. is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to support ash management and construction projects.

The role involves operating heavy machinery such as backhoes, loaders, dozers, excavators, and graders in a safe, efficient manner while coordinating with crew members. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of operating heavy equipment, experience reading blueprints, and familiarity with GPS grading systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience operating heavy equipment in construction or similar
• Experience leading project tasks preferred
• Experience reading blueprints preferred
• Experience operating in a production-focused environment preferred
• Experience utilizing GPS grading systems (e.g. Trimble, Topcon) preferred
• Knowledge of ash management, structural fills and landfills preferred
• Knowledge of machines and tools, including design, use, repair, and maintenance preferred

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy construction equipment such as backhoe, front end loader, dozer, excavator, or motor grader safely and efficiently
• Lead in-field guidance, coordinate project flow and movement
• Load and move materials (ash, dirt, rock) with equipment
• Coordinate machine actions with crew signals
• Train new employees on heavy equipment/dump trucks
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment
• Adjust controls precisely to required positions
• Follow and promote all safety regulations
• Perform other duties as assigned
