Job summary

Abbott in Savannah, GA seeks a Construction Superintendent to oversee daily site operations, scheduling, procurement, and coordination with Project Manager. You will manage direct labor, subcontractors, and safety compliance, ensuring on-time delivery and budget adherence.

Responsibilities include creating look-ahead schedules, coordinating pre-construction meetings, and communicating progress to clients and stakeholders. Healthcare construction experience is required, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction related field and at least 5 years of commercial construction experience.
• Healthcare construction experience is required.
• Demonstrated knowledge of construction processes.
• Reads blueprints accurately and understands codes and design requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan procedures for construction based on specs, timelines, and staffing requirements.
• Work with Project Manager to develop and use look-ahead schedules.
• Coordinate pre-construction meetings with the Project Manager.
• Direct procurement of tools and materials to align with schedules.
• Inform all parties on construction issues and progress; coordinate with subs and clients.
• Resolve staff and subcontractor issues, and ensure work conforms to plans and schedules.
• Prepare the Project Management Plan in collaboration with the Project Manager.
• Ensure safety, quality standards, and housekeeping are maintained.
