Job summary

Optimum Communications Inc. is seeking a Lead Headend Engineer to maintain the Telecommunications Network Management/Inside Plant. The role emphasizes leadership, reliability, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to support ongoing technology implementations and network improvements.

The position requires a deep understanding of ISP operations, compliance with regulations, and the ability to guide a team through complex projects while ensuring customer-focused results.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Inside Plant design and operation.
• Familiar with local/state/FCC performance testing and regulations.
• Proven leadership skills.
• Two years of Headend maintenance.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Support daily operations and project requests from the Area Manager.
• Support implementation and integration of newer technology.
• Operate Inside Plant to increase reliability and meet Optimum specifications.
• Improve network reliability through continuous analysis and adapting to new tech.
• Represent Area Manager during absences.
• Complete assigned projects on time and within budget.
• Work within budget guidelines and allocate resources accordingly.
• Provide coaching, feedback, and development plans to team members.
• Coordinate with other groups to resolve technical issues and support product launches.
• Ensure payroll timesheets are accurate and approved timely, manage overtime.
• Maintain inventory levels for equipment and supplies.
• Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
