Job summary

Optimum is seeking a Lead Headend Engineer in Tyler, TX to oversee Inside Plant operations, drive reliability improvements, and lead a small engineering team. You will coordinate daily tasks with the Area Manager, implement new technologies, and ensure we meet performance standards.

The role demands leadership, strong analytical skills, and hands-on expertise in headend maintenance, with the ability to work flexible hours and stand by as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Inside Plant design and operation.
• Familiar with FCC performance testing and regulations.
• Two years of Headend maintenance experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Support daily operations and project requests from the Area Manager.
• Support the implementation and integration of newer technology.
• Operate Inside Plant to increase reliability and meet Optimum specs.
• Provide coaching, development plans and training to the team.
• Manage budgeting and ensure on-time, on-budget project completion.
• Ensure customer-focused decisions and cross-team collaboration.
