Job summary

SpaceX in Texas is seeking a reliability team lead to mentor technicians and manage root cause analysis on electrical systems and PCBAs. You will drive improvements with manufacturing and design teams to reduce failures and improve yield.

You’ll own the production root cause lab operations, schedule technicians, maintain equipment, and develop new processes to enable faster, data-driven problem solving across multiple shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency.
• 3+ years of quality or reliability experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, aerospace engineering, or related technical field.
• Experience performing root cause analysis on electrical systems and PCBAs.
• Experience mentoring technicians or junior engineers.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, iterative environment with rapidly changing priorities.
• Strong data-driven communication across cross-functional teams.
• Experience in consumer electronics, aerospace, automotive, or other high-volume hardware manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with quality management systems (ISO 9001 or equivalent)

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of reliability technicians and specialists performing root cause analysis on electrical systems and PCBAs
• Drive root cause findings into actionable improvements with manufacturing and design teams to reduce failure rates and improve yield
• Own day‑to‑day operations of the production root cause lab, including technician scheduling, equipment maintenance, lab organization (5S), and resource planning
• Develop and implement new processes and tools that improve the team’s ability to efficiently and accurately root cause electrical failures
• Establish clear priorities across multiple shifts and ensure timely communication of findings and recommendations to production stakeholders
• Define and track team performance metrics and key indicators, holding the team accountable to measurable outcomes
• Identify development opportunities for team members that align with both individual growth and Starlink program goals
