Job summary

Amazon One MHS is seeking a Hardware Development Manager to lead cross-functional engineers in creating advanced material handling hardware. You will oversee end-to-end development from concept to production, driving optimization, qualification, and robust performance across electro-mechanical systems.

The role emphasizes team leadership, mentoring, and collaboration with Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality teams to ensure successful product launches and measurable performance

Qualifications

• 5+ years of manufacturing, process, industrial engineering experience.
• 10+ years of engineering team management experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience in engineering team management.
• Experience in manufacturing, process, or industrial engineering.
• Experience developing and testing mechanical robotics equipment.
• Experience in system-level integration.
• Experience with DFx (cost, test, manufacturing).
• Master's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field (preferred).
• Experience in technical leadership of development, testing, and implementation of large-scale, complex technology projects (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Work with an interdisciplinary team to execute product designs from concept to production including specification, design, prototyping, validation and testing
• Work with the Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Quality organizations as well as vendors to ensure smooth product launch
• Developing and reporting performance metrics for the hardware engineering team to peers and executives
• Recruiting and developing great people; continually raises the bar
• Managing multiple teams and managers to meet deliverables.
• Maintaining high level of communications with cross-functional team, and partners
• Interfacing with engineering managers, product management, and/or program management to drive new product development programs from concept to production
