Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Lead Hardware Engineer for the ladar product line within Anduril Imaging. You will own hardware architecture across mechanical, electrical, optical, and test disciplines and drive the transition from prototype to high-rate production.

You will lead a small team, define V&V metrics, and oversee NPI, DVT, and Manufacturing Readiness Reviews, ensuring reliability in extreme environments while coordinating with cross-functional leads.

Qualifications

• Degree in a technical field such as mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, optical engineering, systems engineering, physics, or a hard science.
• 8+ years of experience developing and deploying complex electromechanical, electro-optical, or active sensing systems.
• Deep engineering breadth across mechanical, electrical, optical, and test disciplines with system design and performance modeling experience.
• Proven experience managing New Product Introduction (NPI) and hardware scaling or sustainment at scale.
• Strong track record leading high-performance cross-functional engineering teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to travel to test sites and manufacturing facilities as needed.
• Must be able to obtain and hold a U.S. security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Define hardware architecture and component selection across mechanical, electrical, optical, and test disciplines.
• Lead transition of hardware from low-volume prototypes to high-rate EMD production.
• Prepare milestones and criteria for MRB, SRR, PDR, CDR, and MRB.
• Own hardware aspects of New Product Introduction (NPI) and coordinate final EDU/EMD-1 builds.
• Design and ruggedize test equipment for repeatable production testing.
• Define, implement, and track hardware V+V metrics for reliability in extreme environments.
• Collaborate with the Chief Engineer and functional leads to ensure staffing and alignment.
• Oversee hardware sustainment, CI roadmap, and change control processes.
