Job summary

Anduril Industries seeks a hands-on Systems Engineer to drive the EDU-to-EMD transition of a Ladar product, bridging design to manufacturing and pushing TRLs toward production readiness. You will scale build capacity to tens of systems per month and lead testing campaigns across EO hardware and software interfaces.

A successful candidate will have 5+ years in EO/Ladar hardware-centric systems engineering, experience transitioning complex systems to production, and strong MATLAB/Python skills,

Qualifications

• 5+ years hardware-centric systems engineering in EO/Ladar or related high-precision pointing systems.
• Experience transitioning complex multi-disciplinary systems from low TRL to production-ready status.
• Strong familiarity with DVT campaigns and environmental testing standards.
• Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and test equipment ruggedization.
• Experience leading systems engineering reviews (CDR, MRR, PRR).
• Excellent cross-disciplinary communication across optical, mechanical, electrical, firmware, software, and manufacturing teams.
• Proficiency in MATLAB and Python for analysis and validation.
• Hands-on lab experience and design of experiments.
• Willingness to travel to test sites and ability to obtain security clearance.
• Deep understanding of production-scale test infrastructure and automation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the EDU-to-EMD transition and ensure readiness for field testing.
• Design and execute a comprehensive DVT campaign for system qualification.
• Prepare documentation and verification matrices for upcoming milestones (CDR/MRR).
• Collaborate with manufacturing and hardware teams to implement DFM and ruggedize test equipment.
• Scale production capabilities from a few units per year to tens of systems per month.
• Develop and integrate robust test automation with software/firmware teams.
• Model sensor performance and validate with laboratory and field data.
• Support both laboratory-based and field-based experiments and demonstrations.
