Job summary

Norman Regional Health System seeks a skilled Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) to lead upper-extremity rehabilitation, including evaluation, splinting, and individualized care plans in a busy outpatient setting.

The role emphasizes orthotic fabrication, collaboration with surgeons and therapists, and delivering patient-centered care across the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder. A strong clinical reasoning background and dedication to excellence are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• DPT or OTD preferred for advanced practice.
• Graduate of an accredited OT/PT program.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing assessments and establish plan of care.
• Provide therapeutic interventions aligned with patient age and disability.
• Document delivery of Occupational Therapy services.
• Direct and supervise OT Assistants, students, and support staff.
• Design, fabricate, fit and adjust custom orthoses and splints for hand/upper-extremity conditions.
• Educate patients on orthosis wear, care and precautions.
• Treat orthopedic, traumatic, burn, tendon, nerve, and post-surgical conditions.
• Provide scar management, edema control, wound care and return-to-work rehab as appropriate.
• Collaborate with hand surgeons, orthopedic physicians, physical therapists, and other health professionals.
• Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and case discussions.
