Job summary

Legends Global in Chicago, IL seeks a part-time Head Gymnastics Team Coach to lead Girls USAG team practices, develop routines, and prepare athletes for competitions. Under supervision, you will mentor athletes, ensure safety standards, and work with a coaching team to create a positive, disciplined environment.

Responsibilities include planning practices, coaching during meets, communicating with families, and coordinating with the gymnastics staff to maintain a high-quality program.

Qualifications

• Must hold current CPR certification.
• Certified Instructor (USAG/USTA) or equivalent; additional specialty certifications preferred.
• Knowledge of human anatomy, kinesiology, and training principles.
• Familiarity with gymnastics teaching strategies including music, tempo, technique, and rhythm.
• Previous gymnastics/tumbling/trampoline coaching experience.
• Professional demeanor and ability to cooperate with staff.
• Ability to work with limited supervision and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead team practices focused on skill development, strength, flexibility, and routine preparation.
• Coach athletes during practices, competitions, and events.
• Adapt coaching techniques to varying skill levels and needs.
• Be the primary contact for athletes and parents regarding expectations and schedules.
• Communicate updates to families via designated platforms.
• Monitor athlete progress and provide feedback on skill development.
• Ensure safety standards and proper technique are followed.
• Prepare athletes for competitions and routines.
• Maintain equipment safety and enforce team policies.
• Foster a positive, inclusive team culture.
