Job summary

Legends Global in Chicago is seeking a Volleyball Instructor to lead part-time programming for youth and participants of varying ages and skill levels, delivering a safe, engaging learning environment.

You will teach fundamentals, develop age-appropriate drills, supervise practices, and encourage teamwork, sportsmanship, and confidence while enforcing safety guidelines and facility policies.

Qualifications

• Current Red Cross CPR certification required.
• Previous volleyball coaching or instructional experience preferred.
• Relevant instructor certifications (ACE, AFAA, or equivalent) and additional specialty certifications preferred.
• Knowledge of volleyball fundamentals, rules, and techniques, with the ability to instruct participants of varying ages and skill levels.
• Strong communication, leadership, and customer service skills.
• Dependable, organized, and able to promote a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging volleyball lessons, practices, and recreational programs for participants of varying ages and skill levels.
• Teach and demonstrate fundamental volleyball skills, including serving, passing, setting, hitting, blocking, and defensive positioning.
• Develop age-appropriate drills and activities that support participants' skill development, coordination, and overall athletic growth.
• Provide instruction on volleyball rules, strategies, techniques, positioning, and game fundamentals.
• Adapt instruction and activities to accommodate different skill levels, learning styles, and individual needs.
• Encourage teamwork, sportsmanship, confidence, discipline, and positive communication among participants.
• Supervise participants during practices, games, and other volleyball-related activities to ensure a safe and supportive environment.
• Enforce established safety guidelines, facility policies, and program procedures.
• Monitor participant progress and provide constructive feedback to encourage continued improvement.
• Promote a welcoming and inclusive environment that supports participation, learning, and enjoyment of the sport.
• Address participant conflicts and behavioral concerns professionally and appropriately.
• Communicate effectively and respectfully with participants, parents, volunteers, and facility management.
• Maintain and organize volleyball equipment and ensure the instructional area is clean and safe.
• Report safety concerns, injuries, equipment issues, and participant or parent concerns to management promptly.
