Opella is seeking a Principal Scientist to lead the gummy formulation program for OTC ingestibles, driving from concept to commercialization. You will advance APIs, taste masking, texture, and stability while coordinating with R&D, Regulatory, Quality, Marketing and Supply Chain teams.

The role emphasizes deep gummy formulation expertise, manufacturing transfer, and leadership to deliver consumer-first products with strong efficacy and user experience.

Qualifications

• Ph.D., M.S., or B.S. in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, Food Science, or related field.
• 5+ years (PhD), 8+ years (M.S.), or 10+ years (B.S.) of relevant experience.
• Strong hands-on gummy/confectionery dosage form development experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead gummy formulation development and scale-up to manufacturing.
• Design formulations containing APIs including antihistamines, analgesics, sleep aids.
• Optimize taste masking, texture, stability, and sugar-free formulations.
• Transfer technology to CDMOs and internal manufacturing sites.
• Collaborate with Regulatory, Quality, Marketing, Manufacturing and Supply Chain.
