Job summary

Gummi World seeks a Product Development Scientist to own the end-to-end product innovation pipeline from concept to commercialization. You will lead the development of specialty gummies, marshmallows, and other confectionery formats, while collaborating with R&D, regulatory, and manufacturing teams to ensure safe, scalable, and delicious products.

The role is hands-on in the lab and on the production floor, with frequent client interactions and demonstrations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant science or engineering field; advanced degree a plus.
• 5+ years in R&D, product development, manufacturing, or QA in food/supplement.
• Hands-on confectionery formulation with scalable processes.
• Experience leading a product development function and mentoring teams.
• Strong client-facing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end product innovation from concept to commercialization.
• Lead formulation of gummies, marshmallows, and other confectionery formats at scale.
• Be hands-on in lab and on production floor; run trials and troubleshoot.
• Serve as technical contact for clients; translate needs into plans.
• Lead tastings and sensory evaluations; document results data-driven.
• Collaborate with Regulatory on formulations and substantiation.
• Build and maintain ingredient database; research functional properties.
• Partner with Quality on specs, change controls, label forms.
• Evaluate secondary contract manufacturers; scale formulations.
• Maintain supplier relationships and track trends; mentor team.
• Drive solutions-oriented development and client-facing leadership.
• Represent innovation capabilities in client meetings; foster partnerships.
• Contribute to platform growth and professional development.
