Job summary

American Family Insurance is seeking a Lead Guidewire Developer to provide technical leadership for the Guidewire Commercial Lines PolicyCenter platform. You will drive design, development, modernization, and support for critical business applications, collaborating with architects, engineering teams, and business stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable solutions.

You will report to the Senior Manager Engineering in a hybrid role, with relocation assistance available for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

Extensive experience with Guidewire PolicyCenter and related modules.
Proven ability to lead complex software design and delivery.
Strong understanding of SDLC, architecture patterns, and best practices.
Familiarity with cloud technologies, observability tools, and automation.
Ability to influence technical direction and mentor engineers.

Responsibilities

Serve as technical lead for the Guidewire CLPC platform and guide complex solutions.
Lead design reviews, architecture decisions, and engineering planning.
Collaborate with architects, product teams, and stakeholders to align solutions with business goals.
Drive platform reliability, performance, and maintainability.
Mentor engineers and promote engineering standards and quality.
