Job summary

Adventure Team in Juneau is seeking a Lead Guide to oversee daily guide duties and ensure safe, organized, and fun tours across Juneau, Sitka, and Ketchikan.

The role requires current CPR/First Aid certification, physical fitness for challenging weather, and the ability to brief guests, supervise trip planning, and maintain equipment. Lead guides also help foster a professional work environment.

Qualifications

• Current CPR/First aid certification required.
• Deckhand role may require pre-employment drug testing and enrollment in a random testing pool.
• Performs pre-trip safety and skills briefing for guests and safe tour operation.

Responsibilities

• Providing pre-trip safety and skills briefing for the guests & operation of a safe tour
• Accurate completion of administrative paperwork
• Daily cleaning and maintenance of all equipment and facilities
• Sanitary food service during the snack portion of the tour
• Learning the information necessary to deliver an entertaining and informed narrative during the tour including flora, fauna, and natural history of the area
• Creating a positive, professional culture and work environment
• Understanding and compliance with company safety & operational policies

Lead Guide

Perform all daily duties required of a guide and have additional responsibilities to ensure a safe, organized, and fun tour.

As a Lead Guide you perform all duties required of a guide and are responsible for ensuring employee compliance with company policies, supervising daily trip planning & operation and assisting the manager with all aspects of the operation. You should be in good physical condition and prepared to work in inclement weather. Current CPR/First aid certification required. If also working as a deckhand, pre-employment drug testing and enrollment in a random testing pool required.
