Job summary

Bay City School District is seeking a lead teacher for the Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) to plan, implement, and supervise all classroom activities for a group of preschool children. The role requires a Michigan teaching certificate with EC Endorsement ZA/ZS or a Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education, plus preschool experience and a commitment to serving diverse families.

You will work with staff, conduct home visits, and support licensing and program quality.

Qualifications

• Michigan teaching certificate with Early Childhood Endorsement ZA/ZS or a Bachelor's in ECE/Child Development.
• One or more years of preschool experience preferred.
• Experience with diverse cultural/economic backgrounds.
• Teaching/learning philosophy aligned with district vision.
• Experience in peer coaching and curriculum planning.
• Strong time management and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead teacher for GSRP, planning, implementing, and supervising classroom activities.
• Assist in program evaluation using PQA and set quality improvement goals.
• Oversee planning, implementation, and evaluation of classroom activities and screenings/assessments.
• Organize caregiving staff and ensure confidential handling of records.
• Collaborate with staff to set developmental goals and interact with families.
• Carry out daily housekeeping and licensing compliance tasks.
• May serve as site director for licensing purposes.
