Job summary

Calvert County Government seeks an experienced grounds maintenance professional to lead care of County facilities and properties. This hands-on role combines leadership, teamwork, and skilled grounds maintenance while serving the community by keeping properties safe and attractive.

Essential duties include supervising staff, coordinating daily tasks, inspecting operations, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in landscaping or related field required.
• Minimum five years in grounds maintenance with supervisory experience.
• Valid Class A restricted CDL is required.
• Medical Examiner’s Certificate and pesticide applicator certifications needed.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and review daily grounds maintenance work and staffing.
• Monitor mowing, trimming, landscaping, irrigation, and seasonal maintenance.
• Schedule seasonal activities and coordinate with contractors.
• Maintain safety, environmental, and operational procedures.
• Train staff on procedures, equipment use, and safety practices.
• Maintain records of inspections, inventories, and services.
