Job summary

Dallas College seeks a Landscape Services Technician to maintain lawns, plantings, and hardscape across campus grounds. You will perform routine maintenance, sod laying, pruning, mowing, and operate landscape equipment to keep outdoor spaces neat and safe.

Two years of related experience and a Texas driver’s license are required. The role is on-site with potential hybrid arrangements after six months, depending on policy and responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Able to perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
  • Ability to troubleshoot causes of operating errors and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Work with colleagues to troubleshoot, diagnose, and maintain landscaping with accuracy and speed.
  • Follow safety and security procedures and report unsafe conditions.
  • Demonstrate ability to analyze information and communicate effectively.
  • Proficient with basic computer tools to access data and communicate.
  • Maintain written equipment maintenance records and reports.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for landscaping and maintaining grounds using hand tools and equipment.
  • Plant, trim, sod, water, and mow to maintain areas around college buildings.
  • Operate a variety of light to moderately heavy landscape equipment.
  • Plant and transplant trees, shrubs, and flowers; apply fertilizers and pesticides as needed.
  • Report equipment repair problems to the Facility Manager.
  • Ensure high quality landscaping maintenance across Dallas College locations.
