Job summary

Blue Origin seeks a senior ground systems engineer to design, develop, integrate, and maintain secure ground systems facilitating TeraWave initiatives. You will work with cross-functional teams to define architecture, implement secure data transfer across security domains, and ensure compliance with policies and standards.

The role requires a strong background in space mission ground systems, network security, and experience with DOORS Next Generation for requirements management, with leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field.
• At least 10 years of experience in space mission ground systems focusing on network protocol security policies and requirements.
• Expertise in secure communication systems across multiple security domains.
• Strong understanding of security protocols, encryption, and data integrity principles.
• Proven experience in system integration, testing, and performance tuning.
• Experience with DOORS Next Generation (DNG) for requirements management.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, and maintain ground systems advancing capabilities to support TeraWave initiatives.
• Collaborate with multi-functional teams to capture requirements, define systems architecture, and develop detailed system design specifications.
• Develop software solutions for secure data transfer between security domains, ensuring compliance with security policies and standards.
• Conduct system-level testing, troubleshooting, and performance optimization for robust ground systems.
• Support full software development lifecycle: requirements, design, coding, testing, documentation, maintenance.
• Share technical expertise and mentorship on ground systems engineering standard methodologies, including security, scalability, maintainability.
• Ensure ground deployments meet regulatory and security compliance requirements.
• Document configurations, procedures, and provide training and support to operations.
