Job summary

Blue Origin in Colorado is seeking a Ground Data Systems Engineer 3 to join the In-Space Systems unit. You will work with Ground System, Software, Mission Systems, and Flight Operations teams on RF/communications development across the full system lifecycle.

The role focuses on owning and maintaining ground data capabilities for space-to-ground operations, with opportunities to lead verification, integration, and production software updates while collaborating across vendors and internal groups.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in space-to-ground communications and ground data systems.
• Experience with CCSDS standards and OSI stack.
• Proficiency with RF link budgets and STK analyses.
• Experience with secure communications and ground networks.

Responsibilities

• Identify, derive, develop, and maintain Ground Data Systems requirements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including flight vehicle systems, ground software, and external vendors.
• Develop and refine ground data system and communications architectures.
• Define and maintain ground data system interface requirements and control documents.
• Plan, perform, and document requirement verification and validation for Ground Data Systems.
• Plan and perform software release cycles, integration and test activities.
• Support initiatives to improve Mission Systems and Flight Operations processes.
• Perform analysis to ensure operability across the Space-Ground System.
