Job summary

Blue Origin LLC seeks a Ground Data Systems Engineer 3 to advance space-to-ground communications and ground data capabilities. You will lead RF/communications tasks across space and ground boundaries, collaborate with flight, ground software, and operations teams, and guide validation of critical data systems throughout the lifecycle.

The role requires deep understanding of CCSDS standards, link budgets, and secure communications, plus travel for testing and operations.

Qualifications

• BS in a technical field with strong space-to-ground focus.
• 5+ years building Space-to-Ground comms and ground systems.
• Experience with OSI stack, CCSDS protocols, and link budgets.
• Proficient in network concepts (TCP/IP, DNS) and scripting (Python).
• Ability to travel for test and flight ops.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Ground Data Systems requirements and validation plans.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across flight and ground segments.
• Define interfaces and control documents for space-to-ground networks.
• Lead production software updates and integration tests.
