Job summary

Akima Global Logistics (AGL) in Alaska seeks a Ground Support Equipment Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain Army GSE and MHE at a contractor-managed turn-in site. You will ensure equipment is safe, compliant with Army manuals, and prepared for storage, transfer, or return to service.

You will handle mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, document results using DA forms, and adhere to safety policies while supporting readiness and accountability for Army

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; relevant work experience may substitute.
• 3–5 years hands-on GSE or MHE maintenance experience (Army or contractor environment preferred).
• Familiarity with Army maintenance standards, TMs, and property accountability requirements.
• PMCS for GSE/MHE.
• Knowledge of GCSS-Army.
• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Strong attention to detail and recordkeeping.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and diagnose GSE and MHE during turn-in processing.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance per Army standards; service and repair systems.
• Verify equipment condition codes and annotate deficiencies.
• Document maintenance results using DA forms and Army systems.
• Adhere to safety policies and handle hazardous materials per regulations.
• Coordinate with Supply Technicians for verification and documentation.
