Job summary

Akima Global Logistics (AGL) in Anchorage, AK seeks a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to inspect, troubleshoot, and repair Army tactical vehicles, heavy equipment, and MHE at a contractor-managed turn-in site.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, defect identification, and preparing equipment for storage, transfer, or disposal in compliance with Army manuals and contract requirements.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of mechanic experience on military or heavy equipment.
• Experience with Army maintenance standards and PMCS is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret Army TMs, schematics, and technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections on heavy equipment, tactical vehicles, and MHE during turn-in.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults.
• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance per Army TMs and DA PAM 750-8, AR 750-1.
• Ensure safety and environmental compliance during servicing.
• Record inspections and repairs using Army forms and GCSS-Army.
