Omni Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Golf Course Maintenance Head Mechanic for Barton Creek Country Club. You will lead maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a diverse fleet of golf course equipment, including mowers, tractors, and carts, ensuring peak performance and safety.

The role requires strong knowledge of gasoline/diesel engines, hydraulics, and preventative maintenance, with responsibility for records, safety, and staff training in a dynamic outdoor setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Golf Course Mechanic.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Deep knowledge of gasoline and diesel engines.
• Hydraulic systems.
• Reel grinding and equipment sharpening.
• Ability to analyze and solve equipment-related problems efficiently.
• Proven record in preventative maintenance program management.
• Familiarity with golf car maintenance and utility vehicles.
• Computer skills for inventory, recordkeeping, and order systems.
• Ability to train staff on equipment use and safety.
• Working understanding of the game of golf and its effect on equipment scheduling.
• Ability to work in diverse weather conditions while performing equipment repairs.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record.
• Ability to move, lift, carry, push, or pull items of moderate to heavy weight without assistance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform all routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on golf course equipment (gasoline and diesel).
• Develop, implement, and manage a preventative maintenance program.
• Inspect, diagnose, and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
• Maintain detailed service and maintenance records for inventory and reporting.
• Ensure equipment is cleaned, fueled, lubricated, and operational for daily use.
• Perform reel grinding and blade sharpening to maintain turf standards.
• Modify and set up equipment to meet course conditions.
• Apply welding and light fabrication techniques for repairs.
• Oversee recycling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials safely.
• Train staff on equipment use, preventative care and safety protocols.
• Communicate with the superintendent and crew; participate in trainings and meetings.
