Job summary

Omni Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Golf Course Maintenance Mechanic at Barton Creek Country Club in Austin, TX. You will assist the lead mechanic with repair and maintenance of golf carts, mowing and power equipment, and related systems.

Applicants should have an aptitude for mechanical repair and experience servicing gasoline/diesel machinery, with strong tool skills and the ability to follow instructions. This role offers hands-on growth in a premier private club environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the mechanic or perform overhauls and repairs on automotive, golf carts, and other equipment.

• Perform back lapping and sharpening of mower cutting units.
• Inspect equipment for defects and make routine adjustments.
• Assist with welding and lubrication; maintain tires and mileage reports.
• Perform duties when mechanic is absent and help with tools/parts.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Overview

Under supervision, assist in the repair and maintenance of motorized equipment; independently do mechanical repair and maintenance work; do related work as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the mechanic or do work overhauling and repairing automotive, golf carts, and other gasoline and diesel‑powered equipment.
• Repairs and adjusts the engines and cutting mechanisms of a wide variety of light and heavy mowing equipment.
• Do periodic back lapping and sharpening of mower cutting units to ensure a sharp, clean cut at all times.
• Inspect equipment for operating deficiencies and make routine adjustments where necessary.
• Perform as many of the mechanics' duties as possible when the mechanic is not present.
• Secure and replace tools and parts.
• Clean working areas after repairs are completed.
• Assist with electric and gas welding.
• Lubricate and service automotive and other equipment.
• Inspect, change, and repair tires; maintain mileage reports.
• Other duties may be assigned.

• Can be taught most of the specifics of golf course equipment maintenance though some experience would be best.
