Job summary

Omni Hotels & Resorts in Austin seeks a Head Golf Course Mechanic to lead maintenance of our Barton Creek Country Club fleet and drive a comprehensive preventative program. You will diagnose, repair, and optimize gasoline- and diesel-powered equipment, while maintaining records and training staff.

The role requires strong communication, five years of experience, and deep knowledge of engines, hydraulics, reel grinding, and safety.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of experience as a golf course mechanic.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Expertise in gas/diesel engines, hydraulics, reel grinding, and blade sharpening.

Responsibilities

Lead and perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on golf course equipment.
Develop and manage a preventative maintenance program.
Inspect and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
Maintain detailed service records using computerized inventory systems.
Ensure equipment is cleaned, fueled, lubricated, and ready for daily use.
Perform reel grinding and blade sharpening.
Modify or set up equipment to meet course needs.
Weld and fabricate for repairs and customizations.
Oversee safe handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
Train staff on operation, preventative care, and safety.
Communicate with superintendent and attend trainings.
