Job summary

City of Leander seeks a mid-level mechanic to maintain and repair golf carts and course equipment. The role requires handling preventive maintenance, diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and engine issues, and keeping equipment records.

In addition to repair duties, this position supports course operations and safety, with overtime and on-call responsibilities as directed by management. An associate degree or equivalent and several years of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent from an accredited college technical school in a related field.
  • Minimum of two years of full-time mechanic experience.
  • A minimum combination (four years) of education and full-time professional experience as a mechanic for golf carts or similar vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Repair, replace, and service mechanical and automotive equipment.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance and record-keeping for equipment and parts.
  • Assist in mowing tasks and course maintenance as needed.
  • Communicate with supervisors during weather events and safety considerations.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Supervise assigned personnel and perform other duties as assigned.
