Job summary

BWB Consulting is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our Infrastructure team and drive geotechnical design from desk study through to detailed design. You will lead investigations, advise clients, and work with multidisciplinary teams on dynamic UK projects.

You’ll apply knowledge of EC7 and UK standards, use Plaxis 2D/3D and other tools, and contribute to sustainable, innovative solutions while travelling as needed. This role offers hybrid working and professional growth.

Qualifications

• A degree in geotechnical or related discipline.
• Experience across geotechnical investigations and design delivery.
• Knowledge of UK design codes (including EC7), standards and specifications.
• Experience working on geotechnical projects within the UK.
• Strong communication and project-management skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and geotechnical software.
• A full driving licence and willingness to travel when needed.

Responsibilities

• Managing and supervising geotechnical investigations, including soil/rock logging, sampling and in-situ testing
• Producing high-quality geotechnical reporting and design solutions
• Designing foundations, earthworks, retaining structures and slopes
• Using advanced geotechnical software (e.g. Plaxis 2D/3D, settlement and slope stability tools)
• Collaborating across disciplines and supporting major construction and earthworks projects
