Job summary

HCA Florida Orange Park Hospital in Jacksonville seeks a General Surgeon to lead our General Surgery Residency Program. The role combines clinical leadership, administrative oversight, and teaching responsibilities to advance surgical education and patient care.

The position requires ABOS board certification, an unrestricted Florida license, DEA registration, and strong administrative/teaching skills. ACGME accreditation maintenance and resident evaluation are key duties.

Qualifications

• Must be board certified by the American Board of Surgery.
• Must meet ACGME requirements including 3+ years of clinical activity and 3+ years of GME administrative experience with scholarly activity in the past 5 years.
• Willing to combine clinical, administrative and teaching responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Operate and lead the General Surgery residency program.
• Develop curriculum, policies, and procedures for the program.
• Maintain ACGME accreditation and state approvals.
• Recruit residents and develop evaluation processes.
• Participate in competency evaluations of residents.
• Oversee faculty development and evaluation systems.
• Manage Clinical Competency Committee, Program Evaluation Committee, and annual program evaluation.
