Job summary

Lockhart Independent School District in Lockhart, Texas is seeking a part-time Chief Examiner for High School Equivalency Tests. This role requires strong knowledge of GED and HiSET regulations, the ability to administer tests in computer and paper formats, and to supervise and mentor test examiners across Lockhart and nearby sites.

The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent interpersonal and planning skills, maintain secure testing materials, and manage scheduling and records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education or related field from a nationally accredited college or university.
• Minimum of three years experience in teaching, counseling, or test administration.

Responsibilities

• Know all testing regulations and policies for delivering high school equivalency tests.
• Pass certification tests to be approved as a GED test administrator and HiSET test administrator.
• Administer GED and HiSET tests in a computer-format and paper format in Lockhart and nearby communities, jails, and juvenile centers.
• Supervise and mentor test examiners.
• Demonstrate high comfort level with technology, data entry, and trouble-shooting.
• Provide professional development/training for test administrators as needed.
• Maintain the security of all testing materials.
• Ensure confidentiality of work-related information and materials.
• Maintain all test records, logs, reports, and other necessary documentation.
• Conduct ongoing inventory of all testing materials.
• Attend training sessions as needed.
• Establish effective organizational and planning skills.
• Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Prepare work schedules for test examiners.
• Verify test administrators' work hours on all employee timesheets.
