Job summary

Latitude AI, a Ford Motor Company subsidiary, seeks a senior Functional Safety professional to own the safety case framework and develop rigorous safety evidence across the organization. You will perform HARA, FMEA, FTA, and DFA analyses, collaborate across teams, and drive traceability from system requirements to software safety specifications for high-performance SOCs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or a related field with 7+ years of relevant experience (or Master's degree and 5+ years, or PhD and 2+ years).
• Strong ability to quickly understand complex systems and perform systematic software analysis.
• Experience with safety analyses such as FMEA, FTA, DFA, and attack tree analysis.
• Knowledge of automotive functional safety standards, ISO-26262 or similar.
• Experience delivering ASIL D certified products to the market.
• Safety management and leadership experience.
• Strong systems engineering fundamentals and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
• Proven ability to communicate complex engineering issues to diverse teams.

Responsibilities

• Own the safety case framework and ensure it is formalized and used across the organization.
• Develop technical content supporting functional safety claims and evidence.
• Perform functional safety analyses on assigned functions (HARA, FMEA, FTA, DFA).
• Collaborate with product teams to support non-functional safety claims with statistical and evidence-based arguments.
• Assess non-functional safety content and ensure tool viability and safety case alignment.
• Lead software safety architecture development for safety monitors and runtime on high-performance SOCs.
• Coordinate with software, system, safety and security teams to ensure traceability from requirements to design.
• Lead safety committee reviews internally and externally.
