Job summary

Latitude AI is hiring for a senior Functional Safety Engineer to drive the safety case for our autonomous driving stack. You will own analyses, safety case content, and architecture for high-performance SOC systems, collaborating across software, systems, and safety teams to ensure traceability from requirements to design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or related field with 7+ years of experience (or Master’s 5+ / PhD 2+).
• Experience with safety-critical software development processes.
• Knowledge of automotive functional safety standards (ISO-26262 or similar).
• Experience delivering ASIL D certified products to market.
• Strong systems engineering fundamentals and ability to analyze complex systems.
• Excellent cross-functional communication to convey technical issues.

Responsibilities

• Own the safety case framework including formalizing the framework, process, and supporting documentation and then ensure it’s tracked and used throughout the organization.
• Develop technical content supporting functional safety case claims/evidence.
• Perform functional safety analyses (HARA, FMEA, FTA, DFA) on assigned functions.
• Collaborate to create technical content supporting non-functional safety case claims/evidence (statistical arguments for Perception V&V).
• Assess non-functional safety case content, coordinating with Test & Software teams to ensure tool validity and capability.
• Lead software safety architecture for safety monitors and Runtime on high-performance SoCs.
• Interface with software, system, safety, and security teams to ensure traceability from requirements to software safety design.
• Lead safety committee reviews internally and externally.
