Job summary

Sidley Austin LLP is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to build and guide full-stack applications using React, .NET, Next.js, and Azure. This hands-on leader will architect, develop, and maintain scalable systems while mentoring engineers and driving quality across the team.

You will lead technical decisions, perform code reviews, and collaborate with product managers and designers to deliver secure, high-performance software. The role requires strong Agile experience and CI/CD on Azure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, software eng or related field; or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in full-stack software development with modern stacks.
• Expertise in React, .NET, Next.js, TypeScript and Azure.
• Strong background in RESTful APIs, microservices, and architecture design.
• Experience with CI/CD, code reviews, and Agile methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack apps on Azure.
• Lead technical decision-making and oversee best practices.
• Conduct code reviews to ensure quality, security, and performance.
• Collaborate with product, design, and other teams to ship features.
• Mentor junior/mid engineers and foster technical excellence.
• Monitor performance and optimize APIs, queries, and front-end rendering.
• Drive CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments on Azure.
