Job summary

Sidley Austin LLP is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Data & AI Engineering team in Dallas, TX. You will design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using .NET, React/Next.js, and Azure, delivering full-stack solutions that support the Firm's objectives.

You will own complex features from design to production, collaborate with product managers and designers, write clean, tested code, and contribute to architecture and security practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, a related field, or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable full-stack applications using .NET, React/Next.js, and Azure.
• Own the delivery of complex features from technical design through implementation, deployment, and production support, ensuring solutions meet business and technical requirements.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, and other stakeholders to define requirements and deliver new application capabilities.
• Develop clean, maintainable, and well-tested code with attention to performance, reliability, observability, and maintainability.
• Participate in code reviews and provide technical feedback to improve code quality, consistency, and knowledge sharing across the team.
• Contribute to application architecture and recommend improvements to systems, development practices, and technical standards.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve application performance across front-end applications, APIs, services, and database interactions.
• Apply security best practices throughout application development, including authentication, authorization, and data protection.
• Partner with DevOps and other technical teams to support CI/CD pipelines, cloud deployments, and reliable production operations in Azure.
• Provide technical guidance, coaching, and support to less experienced engineers and contribute ideas for continuous improvement based on emerging technologies and engineering practices.
