Job summary

Saliense is hiring a Lead Software Developer to lead the design and development of complex software solutions on our program at the Office of Naval Research in Arlington, VA. This is 100% onsite (5 days/week at ONR in Arlington) and requires a Secret clearance to start.

US citizenship or naturalization is required for eligibility. The role involves defining architecture, evaluating tools, leading code reviews, and guiding a development team to deliver secure, scalable software with tight

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
10+ years of professional software development experience.
At least 3 years as a lead developer.
Active Secret Clearance or current interim.
IAT Level II certification (CompTIA Security+ or equivalent).
Computing environment certification (e.g., Server+, Linux+, AWS Certified Developer).

Responsibilities

Defining and implementing software architecture and design patterns that meet business needs and technical requirements.
Evaluating and recommending tools, technologies, and processes to improve development efficiency and product quality.
Writing high-quality, maintainable, and scalable code. Leading by example, ensuring that code reviews and quality assurance practices are adhered to.
Identifying and resolving complex technical issues, performance bottlenecks, and bugs.
Optimizing software for performance, scalability, and security.
Will work closely with the project manager, product owners, and other stakeholders to define project requirements, scope, and timelines.
Identifies potential risks and issues related to software development and implements mitigation strategies. Ensures the PDS project is delivered with minimal disruptions.
