Socket.dev in the United States is seeking a Lead Full-Stack Engineer to guide a distributed team building a restaurant-ready POS expansion. You will own end-to-end services, from data models to merchant-facing screens, while ensuring robustness and scale across offline modes and real-time flows.

You will shape architecture, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product and design to deliver maintainable, high-quality software in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years building full-stack products as a senior contributor.
• Deep Node.js and TypeScript across the full stack with live services.
• Strong REST API design and microservices background.
• Relational DB skills: Postgres/MySQL; caching and non-relational stores.
• Experience with queues/streaming and failure modes; real-time interfaces.
• Front-end environment: Vue; experience with React/Angular acceptable.
• WebSockets real-time order flow; debugging and root-cause analysis.
• Linux, Git, CI/CD familiarity; excellent English communication.

Responsibilities

• Architect and deliver new restaurant-facing services from data model to UI.
• Own merchant restaurant surfaces and staff screens across orders.
• Extend and harden production services without destabilizing systems.
• Ensure correctness under concurrency with retries and idempotency.
• Build offline-capable clients with sync on reconnect.
• Manage queues, background jobs, and event-driven flows.
• Safely rollout releases to tens of thousands of users.
• Collaborate with product managers and designers on what to build.
• Provide technical direction and code reviews for engineers.
