Job summary

Charles Schwab in Austin is seeking a Lead Software Development Engineer for Advisor Services Technology to build, modernize, and support critical wealth management platform capabilities including rebalancing, trading workflows, and data processing.

You will collaborate across engineering, product, and business teams to translate workflow needs into scalable technical solutions while contributing to modernization across APIs, batch workflows, data pipelines, microservices, and cloud-ready

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field or equivalent practical experience
8+ years of Java and production-critical systems
Experience building REST APIs, microservices, and distributed systems
Experience with SQL and relational databases (Oracle or PostgreSQL)
Experience with data processing, batch workflows, and data pipelines
Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD workflows, and Git-based development
Ability to troubleshoot complex issues across APIs, databases, and batch systems
Ability to operate independently in fast-paced environments

Responsibilities

Build, modernize, and support critical wealth management platform capabilities (rebalancing, trading workflows, data processing)
