Charles Schwab Corporation's Schwab Technology Services seeks a Lead Software Engineer in Austin, TX to provide hands-on technical leadership, shaping the Schwab Customer Identifier platform with Java, REST APIs, and microservices, from scoping through production rollout.

You will influence architecture, improve engineering quality, and partner with product, architecture, vendors, and offshore teams to deliver reliable client-facing functionality while advancing cloud, DevOps, and AI-assisted

Qualifications

Experience designing high-volume, enterprise Java applications.
Ability to lead architecture decisions, mentor engineers, and raise standards.
Designing scalable, resilient systems across apps, services, and data flows.
Experience with REST APIs, microservices, and enterprise integration patterns.
Cloud services management and CI/CD delivery experience.
DevOps mindset with automated builds, deployment, and production ownership.
Strong data management skills with relational or NoSQL databases.
Ability to apply Generative AI tools responsibly to engineering work.
Proven stakeholder management with cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities
