Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to build the agentic orchestration runtime powering its AI content generation platform. You will own the generator→critic workflow and the broader agentic infrastructure that supports AI-assisted content migration and automation.

You will lead a team of developers, work across distributed microservices, and collaborate with product managers to deliver scalable, compliant cloud-based solutions for millions of customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
• At least 4 years of experience in software engineering.
• At least 2 years of experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).

Responsibilities

• Build and operate the agentic workflow harness — implement the generator agent, critic agent, multi-section parallel orchestration, and bounded revision loop.
• Integrate the agentic pipeline with the enterprise LLM model gateway — manage API calls, rate limiting, backpressure, and metrics.
• Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers with distributed microservices and full stack systems.
• Mentor other engineers, participate in tech communities, and stay current with trends and tools.
• Collaborate with product managers to deliver cloud-based solutions that empower customers.
• Utilize JavaScript, Java, HTML/CSS, TypeScript, SQL, Python, Go, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS services.
