Job summary

The Freeman Company in Boston/Avon, MA is seeking a Part-Time Lead Freight Ops to head show-site dock labor for events under 100,000 lbs, coordinating a small crew and ensuring on-time, safe operations. You will interact with customers and vendors to deliver exceptional service and manage show documentation.

This in‑person, part‑time role requires a High School Diploma and about two years of trade show experience; travel up to 25% is possible.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of trade show or related experience required.
• Should be familiar with Freight Procedures Manual and Freight Operations documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead dock labor at show site by assigning qualified personnel to perform work.
• Adhere to safe operations practices to reduce and control safety violations.
• Lead loading and unloading show site dock operations at show site.
• Interact professionally with customers, sales, and operations staff to provide the best service.
• Ensure equipment and tools needed are in place and ready for use; advise show lead of additional needs.
• Remove malfunctioning equipment and assist with return after show.
• Ensure labor needs have been requested and submitted.
• Follow set hours of operation and labor at show site.
• Follow paperwork procedures as outlined in Freight Procedures Manual.
• Confirm advance freight delivery to show site is arranged.
• Keep job costs to a minimum without sacrificing service.
• Provide excellent customer service and protect company against liabilities.
• Produce payroll forms/time cards for hours worked on assigned shows.
• Participate in safety and customer service meetings; comply with Freeman policies.
