Job summary

Louisiana Bridge Builders in Lake Charles, LA is seeking a Lead Carpenter to supervise formbuilding/formsetting on bridge projects. You will read blueprints, assemble and install forms for foundations and beams, and guide a crew on site to ensure accuracy and safety.

The role requires 5 years in form carpentry, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights or weekends when needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of form carpentry experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to read construction plans (blueprints).
• Experience leading a team preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily instructions to crew.
• Assemble forms for bridges, foundations, beams.
• Read and interpret blueprints to determine form requirements.
• Measure and cut materials with hand and power tools.
• Ensure formwork is level, plumb, and square.
• Install anchor bolts and fixtures in formwork.
• Remove formwork after concrete curing.
• Inspect and maintain formwork for safety.
• Assist with the concrete pour process.
• Perform tasks efficiently and safely.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
