Job summary

CrossCountry Mortgage, LLC is seeking a Forensic Underwriting Team Lead to guide a team of underwriters and oversee day-to-day operations during purchase reviews for Bond, Agency and Non-Agency loans. You will mentor staff, manage workload, and resolve complex conditions with investors.

In collaboration with the Forensic Underwriting Manager, you will address escalations, provide written responses, and drive efficiency, accuracy, and compliance in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a Team Lead or senior role.
• Experience addressing investor conditions and exceptions.
• Knowledge of regulatory rules and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day tasks of the Forensic Underwriting Team.
• Serve as the first level escalation point for team queries and file reviews.
• Review and balance loan assignments and workload.
• Provide coaching in one-on-one meetings.
• Assist with onboarding and training of new hires.
• Monitor performance metrics and report on accuracy and timeliness.
• Suggest process improvements to increase efficiency and compliance.
• Review production to identify trends for management.
• Monitor timelines and prioritize aged loans for resolution.
• Support with team tasks as needed.
• Communicate status updates to management.
