Job summary

Aramark in Allegany County Jail seeks a Food Service Worker to supervise inmates, train workers, and coordinate meal production to meet daily plans while upholding safety and sanitation standards.

You will help ensure correct portions, assist with inventory, and maintain logs. A background check is required; candidates must be 18+. The role offers $15–$18/hour with a $500 sign-on bonus and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be over 18 years of age.
• Minimum of one (1) year of food prep or related work preferred.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Must be able to obtain a food safety certification.
• Must qualify for and maintain correctional facility security clearance.
• Background check required.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to and maintain production guidelines by reviewing logs.
• Supervise inmates in food preparation and tray assembly.
• Ensure timely, efficient meal service and adherence to guidelines.
• Direct inmates in recipes and proper cooking procedures.
• Ensure proper portions and dietary requirements are met.
• Review daily population counts with staff.
• Adhere to security policies and ensure storage areas are secured.
• Manage kitchen tools/equipment and secure access.
• Prepare work and sanitation schedules; supervise cooks and inmates.
• Assist in inventory, receiving, and storing of food items.
