Job summary

The State of Ohio, specifically the Ohio Veterans Homes in Georgetown, is hiring for a full-time Food Service Supervisor. Responsibilities include overseeing kitchen staff, planning menus, ensuring safety and cleanliness, and training personnel. The role operates 11:00 AM–7:30 PM with every other weekend duties, located in Georgetown, OH.

Qualifications

• Completion of 1 yr. trg. program in food service management or 12 mos. exp in food service prep.
• 6 mos. trg. or 6 mos. exp. in employee training & development.
• Or completion of 2 yr. trg. program in food service prep or hospitality management tech or 2 yrs. exp. in food service prep with 6 mos. trg/exp in training.

Responsibilities

• Supervise kitchen staff including cooks, bakers, and food service workers.
• Create and manage staff schedules.
• Help plan menus and daily food preparation.
• Ensure health, safety, and infection control standards in food service operations.
• Train new employees and provide ongoing staff education on equipment, safety, and kitchen procedures.
• Inspect kitchen and dining areas for cleanliness and safety.
• Check deliveries for quality and inventory tracking.
• Maintain attendance and other employee records; approve time off and address performance issues.
• Assist planning and serving meals for special events.
• Ensure proper food storage and kitchen security.
