Job summary

The Minnesota Department of Corrections, Minnesota Correctional Facility (MCF) - Faribault, seeks a Food Service Lead to supervise the daily meal preparation, serving, and clean-up in the facility's food services area.

The role requires guiding incarcerated workers, ensuring meals meet quality and nutrition standards, and maintaining safety; evening shift 10:45 am–7:15 pm, Thursday–Monday, with days off Tuesday/Wednesday.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ and pass a criminal history check.
• Must read, write, and communicate verbally in English.
• One of the following minimum qualifications must be met: 9 months of full-time food production experience, 6 months of cooking in a correctional or secured environment, or completion of a full-time vocational/technical program in commercial cooking.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance to incarcerated workers in the preparation, presentation, handling, serving and cleanup of daily meals.
• Monitor and adhere to safety and sanitation standards within the food services area.
• Direct contact with incarcerated individuals.
