Job summary

Minnesota Department of Corrections is seeking a Food Service Lead for the Minnesota Correctional Facility in Faribault. The role oversees the evening shift (10:45 am – 7:15 pm), directing incarcerated workers in daily meal preparation, presentation, and cleanup to meet quality and nutrition standards and service timelines.

The position requires at least 18 years old, ability to pass a criminal history check, and English literacy for communication.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be at least 18 years old and able to pass a criminal history check.
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate verbally in English and stand, walk, bend, carry, push, and handle items during the shift.

Responsibilities

• Direct guidance, instruction and direction to incarcerated workers in meal preparation, presentation, handling, serving and clean-up to meet quality, nutrition, and service timelines.
• Monitor and adhere to safety and sanitation standards in the food services area and maintain a secure environment.
