Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as a mechanic with gas and diesel truck engines, suspension, steering, and brakes.
• Must have EVT or ASE Certifications (1-8 or Medium-Heavy Vehicle Technician) and willingness to complete within first year.
• Your own set of basic automotive tools.
• A clean driving record.
• Comfort working independently and managing multiple jobs.
• Basic computer skills for maintenance records and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on diagnostics, repair, and preventive maintenance on ambulances and fleet vehicles (engines, brakes, transmissions, suspension, electrical, HVAC).
• Troubleshoot and coordinate installation of specialty equipment (oxygen/medical air systems, radios, GPS, cameras, mounts).
• Assign and prioritize repair work for the maintenance team and provide technical guidance to mechanics.
• Respond to vehicle breakdowns and get vehicles back in service quickly and safely.
• Manage relationships with dealers, specialty shops, and outside vendors when needed.
• Keep maintenance records, parts inventory, and shop equipment organized and accurate.
