Job summary

Colonial Group is seeking a Lead Mechanic to maintain, repair and overhaul fleet vehicles at our Market Center shop in Texas. You will organize work, ensure preventative maintenance programs, and drive quality control to meet Vestis standards and DOT requirements.

Responsibilities include scheduling and assigning tasks, optimizing costs through purchases and inventory control, and training staff as needed. The role demands hands-on leadership in a fast-paced shop environment.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in fleet vehicle mechanical repairs and maintenance.
• Diploma or GED; automotive tech training preferred.
• Experience with preventative maintenance scheduling and DOT compliance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain fleet vehicles with preventative maintenance for 100% compliance.
• Assist with scheduling and assigning work to mechanics.
• Assess training needs for fleet staff and coordinate with leadership.
• Utilize AVMS system for shop operations and tracking.
• Manage costs through purchasing, inventory control, and safety training.
• Ensure shop meets Vestis, OSHA and DOT standards and keep clean.
